Delna practices in a broad range of areas, including commercial litigation, class actions and insolvency matters under the CCAA. She has appeared before all levels of court in Ontario.
Prior to joining the firm, Delna practiced at the Toronto office of a large international firm.
While in law school, Delna gained valuable courtroom experience independently running several trials, including an appeal at the Court of Queen's Bench. Delna was an active participant in the competitive mooting program, placing first overall in the Davies National Corporate Securities Moot in 2014, and receiving the top factum award at the Jessup International Law Moot Competition in 2013.
Represented a father and his disabled son on a pro bono basis in an appeal concerning disability support payments from the Government of Ontario. The father was awarded the maximum amount of benefits retroactive to the date of his application.
Counsel to the plaintiff, Ernst & Young Inc in a precedent setting oppression action in the context of an insolvency proceeding. This case was distinguished as one of four Impact Cases of the year by Benchmark Canada in 2018.
Counsel to the plaintiff, Deciem Inc in a commercial lease dispute. The plaintiff was entirely successful on summary judgment and received a significant costs award. The judgment was upheld on appeal.
