Vinayak’s developing litigation practice covers a range of areas including corporate commercial disputes, professional liability matters, and intellectual property litigation.
Prior to joining the firm, Vinayak articled and practiced at a leading national law firm where he defended banks, construction companies, employers, franchisors, municipalities, and pharmaceutical companies.
Vinayak obtained his JD from the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University, where he was named class valedictorian and won a number of academic awards including the AS Patillo Prize for winning the 2016 Smith Shield Moot and the GI Smith Memorial Award for academic excellence. Prior to law school, Vinayak completed a double major in chemistry and mathematics at Dalhousie University and worked as a research assistant in the fields of organic, inorganic, and physical chemistry.
Counsel to the franchisor defendants in successfully arguing a Rule 21 motion defeating the franchisee’s statutory rescission claim. (Prior to joining Lenczner Slaght)
