Peter Griffin Awarded The Advocates’ Society Medal
Lenczner Slaght is proud to announce that Peter Griffin will be the 2024 recipient of The Advocates’ Society Medal, to be presented at a special awards ceremony in the Fall of 2024.
The Advocates’ Society Medal is the highest expression of esteem which the Society can convey to one of its members. It is intended to honour those who have demonstrated their pre-eminence in advocacy and leadership, who have been dedicated members of The Advocates' Society, and who have made significant, long-lasting contributions to the profession of law as well as the community at large.
“As an extraordinary advocate, mentor, leader, and colleague, Peter has led the way on all these fronts for over four decades and he truly exemplifies the excellence and ideals at the heart of our practice,” says Monique Jilesen, Managing Partner at Lenczner Slaght. “We are very pleased that The Advocates’ Society has chosen to recognize Peter for the indelible mark he has left on the legal industry in Canada.”
Peter is recognized by his peers as one of the top litigators in Canada, particularly in the areas of corporate commercial litigation, class actions, securities matters, insolvency, and professional and director/officer liability. He has appeared before all levels of court in Ontario and the common-law provinces, and before the Supreme Court of Canada. Peter is past President of The Advocates' Society, a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, and past Chair of the American College of Trial Lawyers Ontario Committee.
Through precedent-setting decisions, extraordinary advocacy, commitment to education and mentorship, and involvement in advancing the legal profession and community, Peter Griffin represents the very best in the legal profession.
Congratulations to Peter on this well-deserved recognition!
