TLA Recognizes Tom Curry with Award of Distinction

For his lifetime of excellence and contribution to the integrity and worth of the law, Tom Curry will be awarded the Toronto Lawyers’ Association’s 2026 Award of Distinction, to be presented at the TLA awards gala on February 26, 2026 in Toronto.

Tom will be recognized for his outstanding career achievement and his significant impact on the Toronto legal profession and community at large.

“For almost four decades, Tom has been a role model for extraordinary advocacy, mentorship, and leadership within our firm and across the legal profession,” says Monique Jilesen, Managing Partner at Lenczner Slaght. “His love of the law inspires us all and we’re so proud to see him recognized by the TLA.”

Tom is one of the most experienced trial and appellate advocates of his generation in Canada. He has acted in hundreds of trials and arbitrations, and has a long record of success in advancing his clients’ interests across almost every practice area, including commercial litigation, class actions, arbitrations, administrative law, intellectual property, competition, and professional liability cases.

Tom's excellence is recognized through numerous prestigious legal honours, including the Law Society Medal, the Advocates’ Society Medal, the OBA Award of Excellence in Civil Litigation, the Catzman Award for Professionalism and Civility, and the Advocates’ Society Award for Excellence in Teaching. Tom is also a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and the International Academy of Trial Lawyers. He is also  certified as a specialist in civil litigation by the Law Society of Ontario.
