Lenczner Slaght Litigators Appointed to The Advocates’ Society’s Leadership
We are pleased to announce that Brian Kolenda, Andrew Parley, Shara Roy, Nina Bombier, Larry Thacker and Anne Posno have been elected to prominent leadership positions at The Advocates’ Society, a preeminent organization dedicated to promoting effective advocacy and access to justice.
Brian Kolenda was selected for the position of Member-at-Large on the Commercial Litigation Practice Group. Brian will be one of the three Members-at-Large responsible for working with the Leadership Committee to carry out the responsibilities and initiatives of the Group. As a recognized expert in Commercial Litigation and in his new position, Brian will make significant contributions to The Advocates’ Society and its members.
Andrew Parley has been selected for the position of Member-at-Large on the Construction Law Practice Group. Andrew will be one of the three Members-at-Large responsible for working with the Leadership Committee to carry out the responsibilities and initiatives of the Group. As a leading expert litigator in Construction Law, Andrew will continue to make significant contributions to The Advocates’ Society and its members.
Shara Roy has been named Vice-Chair of the Securities Litigation Practice Group. Together with the Chair, the Vice-Chair is responsible for planning and coordinating the activities of the Group, such as educational programming and networking events in support of its members. As a leading expert in the area of Securities Litigation and in her new position, Shara will continue to contribute her expertise and knowledge to The Advocates’ Society and its members.
Nina Bombier advances her position in the Leadership Committee of the Personal Injury and Insurance Practice Group, this year as Vice-Chair. Together with the Chair, the Vice-Chair is responsible for planning and coordinating the activities of the Group, such as educational programming and networking events in support of its members. As a recognized expert in Insurance Litigation and in her new position, Nina will continue to contribute her expertise and knowledge to The Advocates’ Society and its members.
Larry Thacker was selected for the position of Member-at-Large on the Arbitration and Mediation Practice Group. Larry will be one of the three Members-at-Large responsible for working with the Leadership Committee to carry out the responsibilities and initiatives of the Group. Through his role, Larry will continue to contribute his expertise and knowledge to The Advocates’ Society and its members.
Anne Posno joins the Leadership Committee of the Estates Litigation Practice Group as Secretary. Anne was previously a Member-at-Large of the Practice Group. In her new role, she will be responsible for developing educational content, promoting programs, and supporting initiatives with respect to issues that affect members of the Group. As a leading expert in Estates Litigation and in her new position, Anne will continue to make significant contributions to The Advocates’ Society and its members.
Peter J. Osborne will continue his term on The Advocates’ Society Board of Directors until 2022. The Board is comprised of leaders of the bar from across Canada who oversee and contribute to the work of the Standing Committees and Task Forces. The Directors play a key role in furthering the Society’s mission to provide opportunities for CPD, advocacy, mentoring and collegiality.
