Lenczner Slaght Welcomes Eight New Associates

Canada’s leading litigation firm continues to strengthen its expertise with the addition of eight exceptional associates.

Lenczner Slaght is delighted to welcome Anna McAllister, Catherine Blair, Dalton Liggett, Kristina Schmuttermeier, Malcolm McCarron, Margaret Wilson, Mina Alam, and Noam Epstein Roth as its newest associates.

Anna McAllister completed her bilingual joint Bachelor of Civil Law and Juris Doctor at McGill Law. During law school, she participated in the University of Ottawa's Copyright Policy Moot and worked with a legal clinic representing students in disputes with university administration. Anna summered, completed a winter work term, and articled at Lenczner Slaght, gaining experience in public law, complex tort litigation, construction disputes, and professional liability cases.

Catherine Blair graduated from Queen's Law, where she earned the course prize in Civil Procedure. She acted as a student clerk for the justices of the Kingston Superior Court of Justice, participated extensively in the school's mooting program, and volunteered with Queen's Legal Aid. Cat summered and articled at Lenczner Slaght, gaining experience in class actions, professional liability, intellectual property, and commercial disputes. She also holds a Bachelor's degree in Genetics.

Dalton Liggett completed his JD at Osgoode Hall Law School, where he received course prizes in administrative law, employment law, and civil procedure. He served as a caseworker at Parkdale Community Legal Services, advocating on behalf of clients before the Small Claims Court and the Ontario Labour Relations Board. Dalton summered and articled at Lenczner Slaght, gaining experience in arbitrations, employment, public law, and professional liability and regulation.

Kristina Schmuttermeier graduated from the University of Ottawa, Faculty of Law, where she served as a Senior Editor of the Ottawa Law Review and competed in the Donald Bowman Tax Moot and the Nelligan Law Moot, placing as a semi-finalist. Kristina summered and articled at Lenczner Slaght, gaining experience in commercial litigation, regulatory investigations, constitutional law, construction law, and professional liability and regulation. She also holds a Chartered Accountant designation and previously practiced at major professional services firms.

Malcolm McCarron graduated from Western University, Faculty of Law. He competed in several moot competitions, including the Bowman National Tax Moot, where he was the top-ranked appellant oralist. Malcolm also contributed to the latest edition of Fridman's The Law of Contract in Canada and worked as a caseworker with the Western Intellectual Property & Innovation Legal Clinic. Malcolm summered and articled at Lenczner Slaght, gaining experience in commercial arbitration, construction, employment, and intellectual property. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Western University.

Margaret Wilson completed her JD at Dalhousie University with certificates in Law and Technology and International Business Law. Prior to joining Lenczner Slaght, Margaret clerked at the Federal Court and completed the Harold G. Fox Scholarship in 2025-2026, working in chambers with barristers at Middle Temple in London, UK. Her practice includes intellectual property, administrative, and public law matters, as well as commercial arbitrations. She also holds graduate and undergraduate degrees in materials engineering from Dalhousie University.

Mina Alam graduated from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law, where she represented her school in the Hicks Morley Labour & Employment Law Moot and the Harold J. Fox Intellectual Property Moot, winning Best Appellant Factum. Mina summered and articled at Lenczner Slaght, gaining experience in professional liability, commercial disputes, class actions, investigations, and appeals. She also holds an Honours Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences from Toronto Metropolitan University.

Noam Epstein Roth graduated from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law, where he worked in the Employment Law and Academic Appeals division of Downtown Legal Services, served as a Senior Associate Editor on the Faculty of Law Review, and coached the Warren K. Winkler Class Actions Moot. Noam summered and articled at Lenczner Slaght, gaining experience in commercial litigation, professional liability, public law, and appeals. He also holds a Master's degree in Experimental Medicine from McGill University.
