Three Lenczner Slaght cases featured in Lexpert's Top 10 Business Decisions of 2015
Canada's leading litigation practice acted as counsel on the top case in Lexpert's annual ranking
Lexpert's editors selected the 10 cases for their potential impact on business law in Canadian courts. Lenczner Slaght acted as counsel in the top case, Bhasin v. Hrynew, argued before the Supreme Court of Canada. The case dealt with the legal duty to perform contractual obligations in good faith and is expected to change the way contracts are drafted. Lenczner Slaght also acted as counsel in Moore v. Getahun, which dealt with the right of expert witnesses to consult with legal counsel in the preparation of their reports. Lexpert also mentioned another of Lenczner Slaght's cases, Chevron Corp. v. Yaiguaje, as a contender for the Top 10 list.
"Cases that shape the future of business in Canada are at the heart of our practice" said Lenczner Slaght's managing partner Peter Griffin. "Clients call on our experience in the courtroom for these ground breaking disputes."
