Olivia* is a summer student at Lenczner Slaght. As a student at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law, Olivia was highly engaged with her school community. In particular, she has participated in many oral advocacy competitions, most notably the Fanaki Competition Moot where her team placed first amongst ten other faculties. Before law school, Olivia’s fascination with how the world functions led her to pursue a science undergraduate degree. By leveraging this background, Olivia considers§ legal problems with a sensitive eye for detail. She never leaps too quickly to surface level conclusions. Rather, she approaches each issue with an appreciation for the complexity , where the best solutions are often hidden. In her free time, Olivia enjoys baking, playing board games with friends, and skiing. .

Olivia Schenk (she/her)

is a summer student at Lenczner Slaght.

Olivia is currently completing her JD at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law. An avid mooter, Olivia has competed in several advocacy competitions including the Stewart Cup Moot, Lerners Trial Advocacy workshop, the Legal Innovation and Technology Competition, and most notably, the Fanaki Competition Moot where her team placed first amongst ten other faculties. 

Olivia is highly involved in her school community. She is currently the Vice President of the Animal Justice Club, where she raises awareness and advocates for more humane and sustainable agricultural practices. In addition, Olivia is a staff writer for Ultra Vires where she has written articles covering topics ranging from the recent Federal Court decision finding Charter violations during Ottawa’s recent use of the Emergencies Act to work-life balance while in law school. Mentorship is also extremely important to Olivia. She constantly seeks opportunities to support pre-law and first year students navigating law school. 

Prior to studying law, Olivia studied Animal Biology at the University of Guelph. She worked a diverse variety of biology jobs including as a crop scout, an agricultural laborer, and a lab technician.
