Lenczner Slaght Welcomes 10 New Associates
Canada’s leading litigation firm continues to strengthen its talent pool with the addition of 10 exceptional associates.
Lenczner Slaght is delighted to welcome Jennah Khaled, Madeleine Andrew-Gee, Herschel Chaiet, Derek Hooper, Mackenzie Faulkner, Liza Leshchynska, Ravneet Minhas, Niema Mohammad, Alex Tuccillo, and Alec Verch as its newest associates.

Jennah Khaled completed her JD at Osgoode Hall Law School, where she mooted competitively, received a number of course prizes, and was Managing Editor of the Osgoode Hall Law Journal. Jennah summered and articled at the firm, where she began to develop her practice in commercial litigation, professional liability, bankruptcy law, and administrative and public law. Prior to rejoining the firm, Jennah served as a judicial law clerk at the Federal Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada.
Madeleine Andrew-Gee graduated from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law, where she was extensively involved in the school’s mooting and clinic programs. Throughout law school, Madeleine worked and volunteered at Downtown Legal Services, in the refugee and immigration division, as well as the David Asper Centre for Constitutional Rights as a working group leader. Prior to rejoining the firm, Madeleine clerked at the Court of Appeal for Ontario.
Herschel Chaiet graduated from Western University’s Faculty of Law, where he worked as a research assistant in the conflict of laws, as an editor for the Western Journal of Legal Studies, and successfully competed in several trial and appellate advocacy competitions. Herschel summered and articled at Lenczner Slaght, working in a variety of practice areas, including commercial litigation, intellectual property, professional liability, and public law.
Derek Hooper completed his JD at Queen’s University. While in law school, Derek worked as a Student Caseworker at the Queen’s Prison Law Clinic, as Vice President of Finance of the Queen’s Law Students’ Society, and as an Associate Editor of the Queen’s Law Journal. Derek summered and articled at Lenczner Slaght, where he gained experience in several practice areas, including employment, intellectual property, professional liability, and commercial matters.
Mackenzie Faulkner graduated from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law, where he won a number of academic awards, and served as a senior editor on the Law Review. Throughout law school, Mackenzie was extensively involved in the school's mooting and clinic programs. Mackenzie summered and articled at Lenczner Slaght, where he gained experience in a variety of practice areas, including complex commercial litigation, defamation law, and employment law.
Liza Leshchynska received her JD from Queen’s University. During law school, Liza participated extensively in the Queen’s Prison Law Clinic program, assisting inmates with disciplinary and parole matters. Liza also acted as a student clerk for the justices of the Kingston Superior Court of Justice, supporting a wide variety of criminal and civil matters. Liza summered and articled at Lenczner Slaght, where she gained experience across a wide range of matters including commercial litigation, professional liability, class actions and construction disputes.
Ravneet Minhas’ developing practice includes a wide range of commercial and civil matters before all levels of Court in Ontario, as well as before arbitral tribunals. Ravneet received her JD from the University of Ottawa, graduating cum laude with a specialization in International Law. As a law student, Ravneet completed extensive coursework in international arbitration, investor-state disputes, and public international law. Prior to joining the firm, Ravneet summered and articled in the litigation department of an international law firm in Toronto.
Niema Mohammad’s practice involves a broad range of civil litigation including intellectual property litigation. Niema graduated from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law, where she mooted competitively, volunteered in multiple clinics, and served as an Associate Editor of the Indigenous Law Journal. Prior to joining Lenczner Slaght, Niema served with distinction as a Judicial Law Clerk at the Superior Court of Justice and the Divisional Court, where she assisted Justices on a wide range of matters including judicial reviews, appeals, judicial mediations and civil trials.
Alex Tuccillo completed her JD at the University of Windsor Faculty of Law. While in law school, Alex worked at and volunteered with Legal Assistance of Windsor where she has had the privilege to serve a clientele with complex and multi-faceted needs. Alex summered and articled at Lenczner Slaght, where she gained experience in a variety of areas including complex commercial litigation, public law and professional liability and regulation matters.
Alec Verch completed his JD at Toronto Metropolitan University. At law school, Alec co-founded Lincoln OUTLaws and the Lincoln Alexander Labour and Employment Law Society. Alex summered and articled at Lenczner Slaght, where he gained experience on a wide variety of matters including complex commercial disputes, professional liability and regulation, appeals, international arbitration, and provincial offence proceedings.
