Doug* is a U.S.-trained lawyer who started his career working in New York City at two of the country’s top litigation firms, specializing in complex commercial litigation and various kinds of investigations. Having been trained at Cornell Law School, which he attended as a Dean’s Scholar, Doug’s work ethic ensures§ that he understands the facts, the client’s needs, and the law in a way that allows him to craft creative and successful legal arguments. These arguments, combined with his zealous advocacy, lead to favourable results for his clients, including in multiple trials alleging fraud and financial wrongdoing. Furthermore, Doug’s ability to persuade has led to cases being dropped or settled with advantageous terms before the cases are ever public. .

Doug Chalke (he/him)

is an associate at Lenczner Slaght.

Doug’s practice focuses on complex commercial litigation and investigations.  

Doug joined Lenczner Slaght after practicing at a top litigation boutique in New York City, where he gained extensive trial experience in a broad array of matters including defending clients accused of various forms of fraud, handling shareholder derivative actions, and representing individuals and business entities being investigated by the government. Doug also practiced in the New York City office of a leading international law firm, where he represented clients in multiple federal trials, winning favourable results for the clients.

Doug completed his JD at Cornell Law School, where he earned multiple awards including the Dean’s Scholarship and the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Sports Law.

Prior to attending law school, Doug obtained an Honours undergraduate degree from McGill University, where he graduated with Distinction. Doug also worked as an LSAT Instructor and helped run a summer camp for underprivileged youth.
