Madison MacKinnon (she/her)
is an articling student at Lenczner Slaght.
Madison obtained her JD at Queen’s University Faculty of Law. During her time at law school, Madison passionately volunteered her time to Pro Bono Students Canada and the Queen’s Prison Law Clinic. Dedicated to advocating for vulnerable communities, Madison continued her work with the advanced Prison Law Clinic in her final year of law school, focusing on complaints to the human rights tribunal and Supreme Court interventions.
Madison also worked as a summer intern with the Canadian Red Cross’ International Humanitarian Law (IHL) team following her tenure at Bader College where she studied Public International Law. At the Canadian Red Cross, Madison conducted meaningful legal research on the intersectionality between culture and IHL, IHL and the environment, and gender and IHL.
Prior to attending Queen’s Law, Madison completed her undergraduate degree at Dalhousie University, where she majored in law, justice and society. Madison conducted independent research during her undergraduate degree on global conflict and international relations while studying abroad at the University of Oxford, Trinity College.
