Ayushi* is an articling student at Lenczner Slaght. She recently completed her JD at the University of Toronto. Ayushi is passionate about oral advocacy, and has participated and placed at six moot competitions during law school and her undergraduate degree. As a former graduate student in immunology, Ayushi embraces§ the uncertainty that comes with solving novel problems. Having previously worked on marketing campaigns for leading pharmaceutical companies, Ayushi understands the importance of providing creative solutions tailored to meet client-specific needs. In her various roles, Ayushi has never shied away from confidently tackling challenges . She intends to bring the same mindset and passion for advocacy and client service to Lenczner Slaght. .

Details

Ayushi Thakur (she/her)

is an articling student at Lenczner Slaght.

Ayushi completed her JD at the University of Toronto. As a law student, she was actively involved in her faculty’s community. With a passion for oral advocacy, Ayushi participated in the Cassels Brock Cup and the Harold G. Fox IP Moot, and served as a coach for the Hamish Stewart Cup. As a student caseworker at Downtown Legal Services (DLS), Ayushi also represented clients in matters involving employment law and academic appeals. In her role at DLS, Ayushi successfully represented clients in two mediations at the Ontario Labour Relations Board.

Before attending law school, Ayushi completed her Master of Science in Immunology from the University of Toronto, where her research focused on gut microbiota. After graduate school, Ayushi worked as a medical editor at a leading health marketing agency developing marketing materials for pharmaceutical companies. Ayushi also holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto with high distinction, during which she spent a summer abroad at the University of Glasgow.

Ayushi has a strong commitment to mentorship. She served as a mentor to high school students through the Law in Action Within Schools program and first-year law students through the Peer Mentorship program.
