Ayushi Thakur (she/her)
is an associate at Lenczner Slaght.
Ayushi is developing a broad litigation practice that includes a wide range of professional liability and commercial litigation. Ayushi has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and various administrative tribunals. Prior to being called to the Bar, Ayushi summered and articled at the firm.
Ayushi completed her JD at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law. As a law student, she was actively involved in moots and worked as a student caseworker at Downtown Legal Services (DLS), where she represented clients in matters involving employment law and academic appeals.
Before attending law school, Ayushi worked as a medical editor in pharmaceutical advertising. Ayushi completed her Master of Science in Immunology at the University of Toronto, where her research focused on gut microbiota. She also holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto, during which she spent a summer abroad at the University of Glasgow.

Successfully defended the defendant physician in a two-week trial involving fundamental medical and legal issues regarding informed consent in medical procedures, including timing, delegation, and material disclosure, with the court confirming that the plaintiff had provided informed consent.
