Caroline H. Humphrey (she/her)
is an associate at Lenczner Slaght.
Caroline practices in a broad range of areas, including class actions, competition law, contract disputes, and professional negligence.
Prior to joining the firm, Caroline practiced at a national firm where she gained experience litigating complex commercial disputes, urgent proceedings for injunctive relief, Anton Piller orders, Norwich orders, and injunctions relating to the protection of copyright. She also brought and defended claims of professional negligence. She has appeared before all levels of court in Ontario, the Federal Court, and the Supreme Court of Canada, representing her clients in both English and French.
In 2016-2017, Caroline clerked at the Federal Court of Canada for the Honourable Justice B. Richard Bell.
Caroline received her JD from the Faculté de droit of the Université de Moncton, where she was the recipient of scholarships from the Department of Canadian Heritage for academic achievement. In law school, Caroline participated in the National Trial Advocacy Competition (Sopinka Cup) and was awarded Best Overall Advocate. She also participated in the Gale Cup Moot in 2016 and the Faculté de droit’s competitive moot in 2015.

A few years after the Supreme Court of Canada released Hollick v Toronto (City), which provided a detailed articulation of the common issues requirement under s. 5(1)(c) of the Class Proceedings Act, 1992, Ciara released her chart-topping single, “1, 2 Step”.
