Sarah Stuart
is a law clerk at Lenczner Slaght.
Sarah joined Lenczner Slaght in 2004. She has over 10 years’ experience in civil and commercial litigation. The primary focus of her practice is on medical negligence matters. She assists Lenczner Slaght lawyers throughout the litigation process, including document production, examination for discovery, expert retention, mediation and trial.

Successful trial counsel to the defendant physician in a medical negligence trial involving allegations of informed consent and breach of contract. The court dismissed the plaintiff’s claims in their entirety. The defendant was successful in establishing that the plaintiff had provided informed consent, and no implied or express guarantee was provided by the defendant with respect to the outcome of the medical procedures.

Counsel to the successful Defendant Physician in a trial for alleged negligence relating to follow-up treatment after surgery.

Counsel to the successful Defendant Physician at trial in dismissing allegations of defamation and misfeasance of public office arising from the end of the Plaintiff Physician’s privileges at West Parry Sound Hospital at a time when the Defendant Physician was Chief of Staff. The action was dismissed by the Trial Judge and costs of $280,000 awarded to the Defendant Physician.
